By the way – I’m not ACTUALLY a parent… but have been trying for the past four years or so. Can I still contribute on issues that focus on raising children? Or questions of literacy or encouraging kids to be skeptical? I’d like to be clear if there are any problems regarding this….

So far, response has been great, but I know these things tend to lose steam over time. That’s why I’m hoping all of us will keep up the momentum.

Good luck. I’ll definitely put something together. I’ll warn you though that it is difficult to keep up with a carnival. I’m speaking from experience. I had one that ran for a little over a year and was left frustrated with the whole process. And organizing skeptics is somewhat akin to herding cats.

I think the first couple editions will be fairly small. I’m hoping for 10 articles in each. And that might be a little ambitious, but I’ve started to notice a lot of talk about the subject on some skeptic sites.

Hopefully, it’s not just the skeptical parenting bloggers who will contribute, but some of the less parent focused, and more skep/secular/humanist generalists.

I’ll put your name on the list for hosting, and let you know as soon as I work out the schedule. Thanks!

Do you really think we have enough skeptical parenting bloggers to keep this thing running? That seems ambitious, but I bet we can pull it off every month.
